For the artists’ book „Re-“ Sebastian Kraner compiled a 36-part to-do list and set the goal to fulfill each point and document the respective process. The time period to accomplish this is 18 weeks, from the selection of the self-imposed duties to the opening of the exhibition, where the results are presented. The tasks include real personal targets as well as artistic works. Furthermore, there are small, seemingly pointless challenges. In „Space of Opportunities“ the artist addresses themes such as work, performance, and life planning. By making the list public and the individual points the content of his artistic work Sebastian Kraner exposes himself to the pressure of fulfillment. The resulting obligation, the inability to act from the compulsion to act, contradicts the fundamental idea of artistic freedom. Performance and lifestyle are put on display.
